Fit day slip
In this challenge we worked on creating a challenge that will impact others or the school. We were able to work alone or in a group with two to five people. Along with Maxine, Tiffany, Jwanna and I we created a idea on how to improve Friday fit at our school. We felt it was an issue that many people were struggling and couldn't get there work done during this time. We want to change this problem by making Friday fit more effective and hope that with our solutions Friday fit will be improved and the students and teachers will feel less stressed. We also created time slots where depending on how many assignments you, you can be released than the usual time 3:35 pm. My group and I created 2 time slots you could leave at. Time slot #1 2-3 assignments could leave at 2:30 pm. Time slot # 2 3 or more assignments could leave at 3:35 pm. We felt by having these time slots it would be more efficient and students wouldn't have to be sitting around doing nothing when they finished all there work. Throughout this process, we have presented to the Design Tech staff. They really enjoyed our presentation and video. The staff felt that it was great way to fix the issues we had with Friday fit, but felt if it didn't use technology that it would be easier. After taking back the advice we had gotten from the teachers, it was time to go to the next level and create a prototype.
This is the first prototype we created. The slip on the right is what we came up with for Ketchup(Friday fit.)
With the help from Ms. Mizel we deiced to call Friday fit ketchup, because when you go to Friday fit it is so you and ketch-up on your work. But as you can see on the left side of slip it has column for courses you would be taking and how many assignments you would have. It also includes your @d.tech teachers signature and what time you would be released. On the left side of the ketchup slip you would put what assignment you would have and how long it would take you to do them. We felt by having this slip it would be a better low resolution and easier for everyone at d.tech.

After, thinking about our prototype we felt that it needed improvement. Maxine and I wanted something would be easier to fill out and wouldn't have to spend that much time filling out. We made the right side where you can put the number of CC's, PT's, UTP's and other. By having these sections it makes it more accessible for the students. We also created a part where you have the time you can be released at. Including the time slots we also added another time slot at 2:00 pm, instead of having 2:30 pm and 3:335 pm. By having the time slots pre-written on the Ketchup Slip it is more innovative.
Test Day of Friday Fit Slip
Maxine and I had to get prepare to create a simple and quick slip to use for Friday Fit. We created something that is simple and easy to use. The goal of the slip was for us to test and see how the community of d.tech would react. The way the slip worked is you would fill out this slip during your @d.tech on Friday. You would fill out the section where you would put what teaches assigned you and then they would have to sign you off. After you fill those two sections out, you would have to bring the slip to your @d.tech teacher and they would have to circle what time slot you can leave at 12:30, 2:30, and 3:35 and then sign their signature. We felt that would be a fast slip that we could test and see how the school would react to it and what needs to be improved. After Friday, Maxine and I deiced to create a Google Form that the students would give us there feedback on what they though on Friday Fit. In the end, of this design challenge it was best for the school to cancel Friday Fit. Maxine and I work was well appreciated and we hoped our positive impact on Friday Fit could help improve future design challenges at the school.
